BCMS Lead Auditor Course : Course ID – 2317

The objective of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third-party audits of business continuity management systems against ISO 22301, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, as applicable. All references in this document to ISO standards are to the current versions unless stated otherwise.

Course will be conducted as regular classroom based or virtual classroom based.
a) The regular classroom based five-day session will be 40-hour course. The course will be delivered in any of the following formats:
b) Virtual classroom based five-day 40-hour course. CQIMC has aligned the course schedule to ensure shorter sessions, delivered over a greater number of days, to improve learner engagement and retention of learning. In addition, frequent screen breaks have been accommodated to avoid continuous screen and/or keyboard usage. The course schedule is updated to provide a 15-minute, break every 2 hours.
c) Course formats available:
• Full-time classroom/ virtual classroom -based learning – delivered over consecutive days
• Part-time classroom/ virtual classroom -based learning – delivered in blocks of learning e.g. 3 days + 2 days, or on a weekly basis.

Before starting this course, delegates are expected to have the following prior knowledge:

• Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 22301
• Knowledge of the following business continuity management principles and concepts:
  • The purpose and benefits of a business impact analysis
  • The principals of risk assessment and analysis
  • Typical business continuity strategies
  • Business continuity response options
  • BCMS performance metrics, monitoring and performance measurement
  • Exercise and testing methodologies

• Those wishing to implement a formal Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 22301:2019
• Existing BCMS internal/ external auditors who wish to expand their auditing skills
• Consultants who wish to provide advice on ISO/IEC 22301:2019 systems certification

Regular Classroom
